For a large multinational chemical production company I am looking for a Procurement Packaging Engineer. The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement added-value packaging in close cooperation with Target markets, Corporate Operations (factories), laying out of/for Corporate Team and local Companies.
  • Coordinate packaging projects with internal and external suppliers through the full process: definition of packaging needs – defining and analyzing options – performing packaging trials – packaging approval by Corporate Packaging Manager and BUs (-> packaging specification) – implementation of packaging – follow-up). Pricing to be organized through Purchasing.
  • Follow, analyze and translate packaging trends into packaging innovations (such as interactive/communicative packaging).
  • Technical guidance, support and improvement of existing packaging of Corporate products: upgrading packaging or solving any upcoming packaging problems.
  • Create synergies / cost savings in order to improve product margins for Corporate BUs in cooperation with Corporate Packaging Material Purchasing through standardising

The succesful candidate will have:
* A minimum of 4 years of procurement experience
* Mechanical or chemical engineering background
* A valid EU working permit
* Experience in a multinational working environment
* Previous regional procurement scope
* Packaging or commodity procurement experience
* Fluency in English is a must, other languages are beneficial
